Indonesian National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction

Indonesian National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is an independent forum which was established to support and facilitate cooperation among stakeholder on disaster risk reduction in Indonesia. This forum tries to accomodate all stakeholder in relation with disaster, and also synchronizing various DRR policy, program and activity in central level, in order to achieve Indonesian DRR goals and national resilience toward disaster. Indonesian National Platform for DRR also established to support Indonesia in realizing its commitment to implement Hyogo Action Plan.

Nearly 80% of infants aged 0-2 years consume aid formula, which causes babies before getting breast milk (ASI) switched to formula milk. According to the UN agency for research affairs of children (UNICEF), "The case of diarrhea in children under two years more than double those who did not receive aid formula".

Indonesia - Australia Cooperation for Disaster Risk Reduction

JAKARTA, PLANAS PRB – Indonesia and Australia agreed to set up facilities for Disaster Risk Reduction in Jakarta to strengthen disaster response capacity in Indonesia. Assistance worth 67 million Australian dollar is expected to reduce the impact of disaster risk significantly.

The signing of this cooperation in the building carried out in the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in Jakarta, Thursday (9 / 7).

Indonesia, More than 5% Budget Allocated to Disaster Risk Reduction

Geneva, June 17th, Philippines succeeded in urging the government to allocate budget for disaster risk reduction, currently Philippines allocated 5% from its entire budget for disaster risk reduction. As presented by Loren Legarda, Philippines senator on the World Debate, held by BBC on the event of Global Platform, yesterday on Geneva.
