Local Wisdom on DRR

Local wisdom is something related specifically with certain culture, and reflects the way of life of certain society. From there, disseminating certain local wisdom practices often become challenge. This publication emphasizes that local wisdom principles could be implemented in another places, surely by adjusting it with local culture. The implementation of local wisdom is a process and needs involvement for wider stakeholder and policy support. This part would become our focus in the future.

This publication aimed to build awareness on the importance of local wisdom as an effective tool to reduce the risk of natural disaster. By enhancing comprehension of local wisdom and present real examples on how to use it, this publication aimed to give inspiration to practitioners and policy maker to consider knowledge that was owned by local societies and integrate this wealth of knowledge into disaster works in the future.
