National Platform is a forum, which is a collection of a linked sectors and stakeholders in Disaster Management/Disaster Risk Reduction (DM/DRR). National Platform consists of organizations or institutions which located in Indonesia and having concern with DM/DRR. As opposite of government institutions, the involvement of organizations on National Platform is open and voluntarily. Decision and policy making on National Platform is based on General Meeting while daily operation decision was based on Host Meeting or certain Cluster. National Platform as a forum is a platform which enabled its member to give idea, discuss, making decision and gain advantages from its presence.
National Platform membership is DM/DRR institution or organization which are able to form sector groups (or member cluster) and later choose one of or several organization as "Host or certain cluster" which served (not as 'representation' chosen to lead) cluster member. This host/certain cluster officialy stated in general meeting decision. According to its importance it is possible to form thematic sub groups which are permanent or ad hoc.
The membership of initial organizations in the National Platform was decided by initial general meeting. Further organizations request to become or quit from being member of National Platform was proposed and approved by Host or certain cluster meeting and later reported to National Platform meeting. National Platform was formed based on initial general meeting and acknowledged by National Disaster Management Body (BNPB). Stakeholder on National Platform categorized in three pillars which are government, civil society, and private sector. The elements of National Platform for DRR is consist of University, mass media, private sector, Non Governmental Organization, Government, Indonesian Red Cross, professional institution, and other organizations or community forums.
