Dr. Eko Teguh Paripurno has successfully achieved Sasakawa Award, a prestigious award given to those who contributed on the effort of reducing disaster risk. This lecturer and researcher from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional were entitled for the prize in an amount of $50,000.

The Initial Team for Indonesian National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) on Wednesday, April 22nd 2009, located on Millenium Hotel Jakarta, socializing National Platform. On this opportunity, National Platform initial team, facilitated by Krishna Pribadi (University Forum for DRR) and Faisal Djalal (MPBI), announced the structure of Indonesian National Platform for DRR for the period of 2009-2012 which later approved by all audience.
